I knew this italian kid who was dumb as a rock but absorbed languages like a sponge.<br /><br />Depression is clinical, while being depressed, is a state of being. I too have felt depression, as life is a roller coaster of emotion, but depression? Luckily neither of us have fallen down that terrible rabbit hole of doom and gloom.<br /><br />I agree with you about breaking the rules and staying true to ones self. This does keep life interesting and fresh. But it seems in todays world, it IS very typically American to look for the spark elsewhere when you've reached the point of mundane. In my view, this seems to be a cultural failure, manifested through the weaknesses of many of us. It's a "disposable mentality". <br /><br />Back in the day, life was made of di-cast stainless steel... now its turned to plastic.
